For most teams having a game with that many defensive breakdowns and offensive missed opportunities would mean a blowout loss. Mahomes had some bad plays but even so he almost singlehandedly dragged them to within one score.

Absolutely, that's the thing with him. Even on a day when he makes mistakes, he's still so excellent that it's an overall win.

Seth, could you show us, the uninformed masses, what coverages these teams are throwing at PM15 & Andy that are causing the confusion? Or is it the sheer amount of people dropping into coverage that's causing the confusion. Also, it seems that PM15 has a pocket to slide up into on occasion but he tends to drift backward causing problems for the tackles. Thanks & I love the film work you do! Very informative! I was curious about this too. Without seeing the all-22, but listening to those who have, it sounds like route combinations were running deep and that Andy might need to go back to taking what the defense gives. Mahomes has shredded zones for most of his career. Something different is going on...

I wouldn't call it confusion tbh. It's not necessarily a coverage issue other than a crapload of bodies back there when teams are rushing 3/4, and then they (at least vs OAK) were calling for deeper, longer-developing combos when the pass pro was holding up long enough for it!
