Thanks Jordan! Spags is definitely in his bag when he feels comfortable calling up blitz packages out of changeup, not necessity, and it feels like he's getting there.
Thanks 4 asking.... I didn't realize that it would take my red blood cell count so long to get back up where it needs to be, despite the fact that I've been hitting the B12 and the iron supplements hard every day! So I'm still dealing with a lot of fatigue and some intermittent cognitive fog that I suspect will last until all those red blood cells are carrying oxygen where it needs to go (like to my muscles and my brain.) It's frustrating but tolerable - I'm making progress, it's just not as fast as I had hoped! I'm not too worried. I've survived worse....
Sorry to hear you're fatigued! In the B12 domain, have you ever tried NMN (Nicotinamide Mononuclide)? It's this molecule that is sort of shaped like a B vitamin that is supposed to help your mitochondria produce NAD+ (a precursor for ATP production). Works pretty well for me. I got COVID early in the pandemic and had some long-term exhaustion as a result. Here's a link to the formulation I use:
Really good stuff! Wondering if you are planning an updated Karlaftis review? I can't tell if he is meeting/exceeding expectations because he is being asked to do a lot of different things, or if he has been underwhelming so far. He's a rookie so I'm not expecting miracles but I'm also not really sure based on just watching the games how I should be thinking about him right now.
Ready for a Karlaftis breakdown too. I recall that Justin Houston was slow to earn sacks his rookie year and we saw how that turned out. Hoping George is paying his rookie educational dues and will soon graduate to full fledged QB terrorist.
I plan on waiting for the bye week to try and explore someone very in-depth. He's a prime candidate, or Orlando Brown.
From the eye test he's executing the defensive games well and shows power/motor, but I'm not seeing him collect a ton of 1x1 wins. I think he's still working on his hands and stringing moves together. But that's just a brief glimpse, so I'm not sure!
With so many blitz variations from Sneed on film now, could Spags show/fake blitz from Sneed in an attempt to shift protection to his side and open up lanes for other blitzing players on the other side? Theoretically? Just curious if the success of this could draw attention to make other blitzes effective
Thanks Seth, always appreciate your time! Despite the fact the Chiefs haven't had a perennial top 10 defense during his tenure so far, I still like Spags and am optimistic his side will continue to improve this year and next year....hopefully with another infusion of talent next season. What a great time to be a Chiefs fan!!
This might be the best article you’ve ever written. Worth every penny (it might actually be only pennies) I’m paying. Great work man! I loved the breakdown and in-depth look. This was awesome.
Awesome breakdown, Seth! Gained a lot of insight by looking in depth at these plays. Wondering how long this will work - or how many other variations are in the trick bag. Seems we've finally got the personnel to carry off an aggressive D - and this without McDuffey and Gay.
This is just top notch. I will refrain from my frequent suggestions (i think that might be called nagging) to raise the subscription price so that its commensurate with the content.
I have a feeling Spags will come up with another one or 2 blitzes that are similar and now I'll recognize it.
Precisely! Seth needs to add an optional renewal add-on beyond the basic re-up. Call it a “signing bonus”? I’m willing to check that box every year and threaten Seth’s personal “salary cap”! 👍🥇💵
I had no idea how much planning was going into these blitzes. I saw Sneed selling the "equipment check" against the Bucs, but never realized that the entire team was configured to make the QB look for the blitz somewhere else every time Sneed does this stuff. Amazing! Great writeup, Seth - I get smarter every time I read your stuff!
Outstanding breakdown. Spags is the Dick Lebeau of DB blitzes. So creative. So fun to watch on a weekly basis.
Thanks Jordan! Spags is definitely in his bag when he feels comfortable calling up blitz packages out of changeup, not necessity, and it feels like he's getting there.
This is really strong work, Seth! Thank you!
Appreciate it a great deal! How are you feeling?

Good luck!
I HAVE A NEED FOR SNEED
Indeed!
More fun because of your comments ❤️
haha thanks Susan!
I love our defense this year! Whoooo!!

Do both!!
100% ditto here! I need my Karlaftis inside scoop and update!
Well done as always. Any articles on Clark coming out soon?

Oh great question! Hope Seth gets time to respond.
THAT is exactly correct and something I bet you anything is coming. He'll send Reid or McDuffie (get well McDuffie!) from the other side.

My favorite play from this game is the pull up jumper. This is my second favorite. Excellent inside info, Mr. Keysor. Thank you!
I miss BoPete Keyes!
...sorry....I meant Trent McDuffie.
.... It's so easy to confuse those two with one another...😱

hahaha to be fair, the "founding member" plan allows you to change it to as high as you want ;)
That makes me happy! And I've got a wife, a mom, 2 older sisters, and a pair of legal assistants who run my life. So I'm used to being nagged hahaha.

I appreciate that a ton! The game becomes more fun the more one learns about it!
Love this. So much more happening than I ever knew. Thanks for helping me learn!
I'm so glad you enjoyed and found it informative, thanks for reading!
I hope Veach chooses to extend Sneed as he has never extended another defensive back. He is a unicorn and PERFECT for the Chiefs' defensive system.
My worry too. Please extend Sneed next year, Brett!
He's a terrific fit, for sure. I'd love to see them extend him this offseason and try and get it done early.
