The inarguable most fun moments of the Chiefs 2022 season, Part 1; Honorable Mentions
It's offseason, so let's rank some stuff! Starting with the most fun moments of Kansas City's most recent Super Bowl campaign.
The “dead zone” of the NFL offseason is not a whole lot of fun. Once free agency and the draft are over, real news becomes pretty scarce until training camp begins (absent the occasional surprise cut and veteran signing), and we find ourselves longing for football to come back into our lives.
But that dead time IS good for a couple of things; In-depth film reviews on players currently rostered (like the LB group, for example, or the 2022 draftees at CB), and the time-honored tradition of ranking things. Both of these serve important purposes that ae very different, and today we’re going to get started with one of the latter. Because what is the NFL offseason without lists, I ask you? Pretty boring, is the answer.
With that in mind, it’s time for one of my favorite offseason projects; Looking back at the most fun moments of the previous season. And in the 2022/23 season, there were a LOT of fun moments. So many, in fact, that I couldn’t bring myself to narrow it down to a top 10 list and had to go with a top 12. And even then, I found the need to have 8 different “honorable mentions.” Because when you win a Super Bowl in a (cough) rebuilding year, there’s just that much fun to go around.
So we’re going to do this in 3 parts (that’s another way you know it’s the offseason, when you can take your time and split articles up); Honorable mentions, 12 through 7, and then the top 6. Why do it in such detail? Because it’s so easy to forget about all the glorious little moments that made up a Super Bowl season. And also, because… you know, fun!
Let’s get started with the honorable mentions, from slicing up the best defense in the NFL to a Skyy Moore redemption moment to Mahomes pulling an Air Jordan. These 8 moments will be in no particular order, as they all JUST missed the cut for the top 12.
