Skyy Moore is a Chief: It's a "know your WR draft crush" epilogue

We've come full circle, and all roads led back to Moore. So, how does the receiver stack up against the other 13 WR's I reviewed, and what does he bring to the table?

(NOTE- I polled Chiefs Kingdom on Twitter if they’d like to read about Moore or George Karlaftis first. Moore won out. I cannot wait to write about Karlaftis, and I’m already several games into his tape, but I’m a man of the people. So let’s do it)

I suppose it was inevitable. I spent several weeks and dozens of hours pouring over the film of 13 wide receivers in the 2022 draft, and the one “upper tier” prospect I didn’t review is the guy Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said “that’s our dude.”

Skyy Moore, the draft crush of so many, is now a Chief. Let’s talk about it.

The speedy receiver out of Western Michigan was mocked to Kansas City so often that it felt like it was impossible they would actually take him. Now that he’s here, we get a chance to talk about him in the same way we talked about so many other wide receivers over the last few weeks.

While there isn’t readily available all-22 for Moore, I was able to (shoutout to Conner Christopherson) find multiple games of the broadcast view that show every snap, which is crucial to see what is happening on the field with consistency. As ever, what matters most is what players show snap in and snap out, not highlights or lowlights.

As I did with the other WR prospects we’ve discussed here, I’ll look at Moore’s speed/acceleration/agility, release ability (ability to get free at the line), route running, hands/strength at catch point, and yards after catch ability. After that, I’ll talk about where he stacks up in my wide receiver tiers created in the “know your WR draft crush” finale (at least I thought it was the finale…), and what his ideal role looks like with the Chiefs.

Is they hype real? Or should we pump the breaks? As I write this intro I have literally no idea. Let’s find out together.
