Merry Christmas from the Chief in the North!
Let's give something away in the season of giving.
Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and thank you all for everything.
This web site (as I constantly tell you all) has become more than I could have possibly imagined when I started it up a year and a half ago. I never thought this would be something I could treat as my primary source of Chiefs content. Yet here we are, and that’s what it has become. And it’s all thanks to you!
Your support has been unbelievable, and I never know how to thank you all other than promising to try and deliver the sort of content that makes you happy you’ve subscribed to this newsletter. And every now and then, I try to give something to you wonderful subscribers that shows my gratitude.
This year, my office had a Christmas party in which we were to decorate miniature Christmas trees. I, of course, used Super Bowl LIV confetti to decorate mine because Chiefs.
I lost the competition, which I assume was rigged, but regret nothing.
So here’s the deal… Merry Christmas to all of you, and one of you is going to win the confetti that decorates this tree (the press pass I’m going to hang on to for sentimental reasons, as it was the first game I ever covered live AND Patrick Mahomes’s home opener).
All you have to do is be a subscriber. That’s it. If you want to drop a Merry Christmas to the rest of the community here in the comments, or something that made this year special to you, I’d love to hear it! But it’s not necessary to win. I’ll be picking an email address randomly as per usual.
(If you’re not a subscriber and reading this, you can subscribe here for $12 a year, or the price of a footlong sub. OR if you’re looking for a last-second gift for a Chiefs fan and know their email…)
(On a side note, the patience of Troy Leitner, who is still waiting in the mail for his Super Bowl LIV confetti after our last giveaway, is something I’m particularly grateful for this year. It’s coming, Troy! That darn vacation set me back, but that means I’ll send you extra!)
I wish there was more I could do to tell you all thanks for subscribing. Your support is one of the things that made this year particularly special for me and my family. It amazes me every single day. It’s allowed me to think about possibilities for other kinds of content we could add on, or other ways we could make this place even more fun. It’s allowed Mrs. MNchiefsfan and I to think about a future in which maybe, just maybe, this job is my only job (wouldn’t that be WILD???).
I don’t know what 2022 holds, but 2021 was a special year. And I thank you all so much for that. I believe we’ve built something special here, a place where we go beyond the box score and look closer at football. A place where the comment section isn’t toxic and the community shares thoughtful discourse on the Chiefs and sometimes more. A place where I’ve been able to write not just about the game, but my family and life as well.
You are all deeply appreciated, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Chiefs Kingdom!!
Seth. Mele Kalikimaka to you and your ‘Ohana. Go Chiefs!
