Invitation: Come say hi in Week 1!

I'll be at Arrowhead for the home opener, and in Lot M tailgating prior to the game. Come say hello!

A head cold has managed to take me off my feet, but on the plus side it’s giving me time to finally let you awesome people know about something I’ve been meaning to talk about for a while.

One of my favorite things about this job is the opportunity to interact with people. Over the years, I’ve had so many wonderful people introduce themselves to me, online and in person, and say kind things as well as just shoot the breeze talking Chiefs. One of the reasons I love doing mailbags is it gives me a chance to get to know you all a little better, and you the chance to know me.

Well, in Week 1, we’ll get an even better chance!

I’ll be attending the Home Opening Week 1 matchup between the Chiefs and the Browns thanks to my friend (and fellow lawyer) Clint. And since it would be a waste of an afternoon time slot to NOT tailgate… well, we’re going to tailgate and see just how much food one can safely consume without falling into a coma.

So here’s the deal… we’ll be tailgating in Lot M (if you don’t know, that’s the parking lot between Arrowhead and Kauffman Stadium), and I would absolutely love for any of you fine people to come over and say hello. I would genuinely love the chance to say hi and meet at least a couple of you face to face.

There will be more details as the day approaches, but if you’re going to be at Arrowhead that day I would love to meet you! Once we’re there I’ll be sure to tweet out a picture of where we’re at.

It’s going to be a great day. It’s been over a year and a half since I’ve been to Kansas City and Arrowhead Stadium, and I absolutely cannot wait to make it back! Hopefully I get to meet a few of you at the same time.

All right, now back to going through Patrick Mahomes’ incomplete passes for our yearly “best plays that didn’t count” piece. There are some ABSURD throws to choose from, let me tell you.

That’s an absolute rope to the opposite corner nearly 50 yards down the field that he puts right in the bread basket. It’s a better throw than 80% of quarterbacks will ever make in their entire life. And it might not even make the top 3. Patrick Mahomes is absurd.
