Felix Anudike-Uzomah film review: Meet the newest Chiefs defensive lineman

Examining "FAU's" film using our draft crush methodology to see where he wins, where he needs work, and how he fits into Kansas City's defense.

The wait is over. After months of speculation, big boards, and mock drafts, the Chiefs have made their first round pick. And turns out, it’s a guy who didn’t have to drive far at all to meet with his new team.

Defensive lineman Felix Anudike-Uzomah, who grew up cheering for the Chiefs and played his college ball at Kansas State, was the pick at 31 (after a run on wide receivers and multiple OT’s being taken off the board). The Chiefs chose the young (he won’t turn 22 until January, one of the youngest prospects in the draft) defensive end over a few more highly-regarded prospects and chose to continue to address DL, where they lost Frank Clark, Carlos Dunlap, and Khalen Saunders this offseason.

“FAU” (let’s face it, that’s much easier to type out and we’ve got film to discuss) is an interesting prospect from a physical standpoint, and he checks a couple of important boxes in his athletic testing.

That said, we obviously don’t know a guy until we’ve looked through his tape. And so let’s talk FAU’s film as a pass rusher, utilizing the same methodology I’ve used to look at multiple other defense line prospects leading up to the draft.
